New Year, New Fabulous You! I have got 2014 off to a good start, going to Lindy Hop yesterday to shake off the seasonal calories collected over the last two weeks (it’s at The Old School Hall in Sneinton and I recommend you go, it is awesome fun!) I have a complete set of accounts that makes me feel incredibly smug and grown up and I’m settling into my new flat. All in all I am pleased with the direction I am moving in, now it’s time to step it up several gears get on with making my business a success and my life full and happy.
As promised January is going to be detox month at the cafe, come and give your insides a treat by eating something super healthy and tasty or downing a seductively good for you smoothie.
I have come across a salad recipe using cauliflower ‘rice’, which is actually raw grated cauliflower. Cruciferous vegetables (such as broccoli, kale, cauliflower, cabbage, watercress, and mustard greens) are said to be detoxifying because they provide support for the immune, inflammatory, hormonal, detoxification, and antioxidant systems in the body.
Smoothie of the day – In The Pink (beetroot, celery, avocado, strawberries, celery, lemon, coconut oil, apple) £2.50
Spicy Spinach Soup with bread £3.00
Cauliflower ‘Rice’ Salad (herby and tasty) £4.00
Frozen Banana Truffles £2.50 (okay so there is some chocolate in this recipe, it’s dark chocolate though and we know that is good for us, right?)
We are based on the second floor of AEDA Arts Academy, don’t be shy come up and say hi. If the stairs are too much we have a lift too!
Dont forgot to check out the photography exhibition curated by The City Gallery work by local artists Alex Kocan and Mervyn Mitchell.
